Traffic

Without traffic you will not make a dime online. Some people will tell you that generating traffic is the easy part of working online but let me tell you (unless) you spend thousands of dollars traffic is the most difficult part (at least for me).

Generating traffic is not all that difficult but converting them to buyers is more difficult than you might think.

I use 99% free traffic from Traffic Exchanges and Safelists. This obviously is the "long" way to generate traffic but unfortunately I am not in a position right now to spend thousands of dollars on paid traffic.

Traffic Exchanges and Safelits work for me because I am giving away a free program that everyone needs but it is a slow traffic source and take some time and effort.

My experience showed me that the following is a no-no when using TE's and Safelists.

1) Stop giving free ebooks in exchange for a email address. This is "old school" and does not work anymore. People can get thousands of free ebooks by browsing the Internet.

2) Never ever send traffic directly to your sales page. Don't even use a capture page. People don't want to give information right away. Use a Splash page to create a funnel. First get them interested and them send them to your sales page.

3) If you don't have a capture/splash page builder in your tools use the splash page the program provides to you but if you can create your own splash page it is a lot better then using the ones from the program. You want to be different from others promoting the same program.

I hope you can see the difference and also see the benefit of a capture/splash page creator.

To promote and effectively build your list you need the following tools:

1) Autoresponder

2) Ad Tracker

3) Capture/Splash Page Creator

4) Contact Manager

5) URL Rotator

6) Training - How to use the above mentioned tools.

When you promote a program try to think a little different than the others promoting the same program. I am talking about a mind set change. Most of the other members will promote with the idea to make some sales or the get new members to sign-up.

I want you to think that you want to build your list. Get more people into your Autoresponder. Forget about sales and sign-ups for the moment. Sales and sign-ups will happen automatically and if not you will now have the potential customer in your Autoresponder and you can send offers over and over.

This is another very important point. Never ever promote any product without an Autoresponder. You want those emails from every potential customer.

A person on your list, on average is worth at least 1$ per month. You can do your own calculations but it is obvious that a list of 1000 people to worth some good money.

To summarise: Build a small funnel by using your own Splash Page. Send potential customer from your Splash Page to your Sales Page and only ask for there information on your Sales Page. Make sure your Opt-in form on the Sales Page is "connected" to your Autoresponder and NOT to the Autoresponder of the program owner. Follow-up to your prospects till they buy or remove themselves.

Your List Is Your Money Making Machine.

REMEMBER: Only promote offers/programs you are part of and try and add value to your customers.
