Traffic
Traffic
Without traffic you will not make a dime online. Some people will tell you that generating traffic is the easy part of working online but let me tell you (unless) you spend thousands of dollars traffic is the most difficult part (at least for me).
Generating traffic is not all that difficult but converting them to buyers is more difficult than you might think.
I use 99% free traffic from Traffic Exchanges and Safelists. This obviously is the "long" way to generate traffic but unfortunately I am not in a position right now to spend thousands of dollars on paid traffic.
Traffic Exchanges and Safelits work for me because I am giving away a free program that everyone needs but it is a slow traffic source and take some time and effort.
My experience showed me that the following is a no-no when using TE's and Safelists.
1) Stop giving free ebooks in exchange for a email address. This is "old school" and does not work anymore. People can get thousands of free ebooks by browsing the Internet.
2) Never ever send traffic directly to your sales page. Don't even use a capture page. People don't want to give information right away. Use a Splash page to create a funnel. First get them interested and them send them to your sales page.
3) If you don't have a capture/splash page builder in your tools use the splash page the program provides to you but if you can create your own splash page it is a lot better then using the ones from the program. You want to be different from others promoting the same program.
Let me give you a example: Just a warning. The links are live and when clicking on the links you will go to my affiliate pages for one of the programs I use. Just look at what I want to show. DO NOT join unless you want to become a member. PLEASE do not waste my and your time if you not want to become a member.

I hope you can see the difference and also see the benefit of a capture/splash page creator.
To promote and effectively build your list you need the following tools:
1) Autoresponder
2) Ad Tracker
3) Capture/Splash Page Creator
4) Contact Manager
5) URL Rotator
6) Training - How to use the above mentioned tools.
When you promote a program try to think a little different than the others promoting the same program. I am talking about a mind set change. Most of the other members will promote with the idea to make some sales or the get new members to sign-up.
I want you to think that you want to build your list. Get more people into your Autoresponder. Forget about sales and sign-ups for the moment. Sales and sign-ups will happen automatically and if not you will now have the potential customer in your Autoresponder and you can send offers over and over.
This is another very important point. Never ever promote any product without an Autoresponder. You want those emails from every potential customer.
A person on your list, on average is worth at least 1$ per month. You can do your own calculations but it is obvious that a list of 1000 people to worth some good money.
To summarise: Build a small funnel by using your own Splash Page. Send potential customer from your Splash Page to your Sales Page and only ask for there information on your Sales Page. Make sure your Opt-in form on the Sales Page is "connected" to your Autoresponder and NOT to the Autoresponder of the program owner. Follow-up to your prospects till they buy or remove themselves.
Your List Is Your Money Making Machine.
REMEMBER: Only promote offers/programs you are part of and try and add value to your customers.

The Product - Digital
Today we will talk about the product. There are several products to consider, but I will only discuss:
Digital Products:
You can develop your own digital product and add it to Affiliate websites like Click Bank or JvZoo.
Affiliates will start to market and send potential buyers to your sales page. When you make a sale you pay these Affiliates commissions. The trend lately is that you pay the affiliates 100% commission and you make your money on the back-end. This means when the affiliates send potential buyers to your sales page you capture their email addresses and start sending them a new offer.
Now that they are on your list you can send them hundreds of offers. The Guru's say you send offers till they buy or remove themselves from your list.
You must keep in mind, to develop your own product can be expensive and time consuming and if it is not a unique product you will not find any Affiliates promoting your product.
Without Affiliates promoting you will not make a dime and waste a lot of money, time and energy.
The alternative is to be an Affiliate yourself and sell other people's products. You will find these products at Affiliate programs like Click Bank and JvZoo to mention only two.
Now you will get the commission when someone buy the product after clicking on your promotion link. A lot of people are making a lot of money as Affiliates and it is a very cheap way to start your online business but that being said it is not easy to start as a Affiliate these days.
There are hundreds of successful Affiliates spending "big bucks" promoting affiliate products. They also have hundreds even thousands of people on their list. To send a offer to 10,000 people you can bet that some will buy the product.
For a newbie or anyone without a list and/or money it is not easy to "break" into this market and start to make sales. People will tell you Affiliate marketing is the way to start but believe you me, it is not easy and it is very very competitive.
The bad thing about promoting someone else's product is the fact that the owner of the product can remove it any time without warning while you still running advertising promoting the product.
The next option is actually a mix (or combination) of your own product and Affiliate marketing. It is called PLR products.
PLR products ares products develop by someone else, you then buy the product as well as all the rights to the product. This now puts you in a position to re-brand the product and market it as your own.
There are hundreds of PLR websites selling products but some are selling just useless products. Products so bad you cannot use them in any way. There are also excellent products available. You will have to search and try and find the best sites.
If you see a PLR website banner on this blog you can trust that website as a site offering very good PLR products. If you do not see one now, bookmark, and come back later. I will do research and get a good PLT website to put their banner here.
The last option - and this is my favorite option - is membership websites. Example of Membership Websites are Aweber and Host Gator. Membership websites are those where you pay monthly to enjoy the benefits they offer. When you send potential customers to a membership website and they join you will earn part of the monthly payment as a commission as long as they stay members.
Why I like this option is unlike your own product or Affiliate products with membership websites you can and will earn monthly commissions as long as your referral stays a member. This means you send people to the website, using your link, they join and you will earn month after month.
Just keep in mind, when I talk about Membership Websites, I am not talking about those matrix websites. Matrix websites are totally different and I will not even discuss it here.
When joining a membership program there are certain things you need to keep in mind.
You want to see a contact number (telephone) on the website as well as a "Contact Us" button. You also want to see the products they offer because you want to add value to your customer. The best products are normally needed Internet tools like: Splash Page Builder, Autoresponder, Ad Tracker, URL Rotator, Contact Manager, Training and at least one or two income streams, The more tools you have in one place the better your offer to a potential costumer and by offering a complete set of tools the most likely that they will join.
It is not easy to find trusted Membership Programs but if you see a Banner on this Blog offering some or all or even more of the tools mentioned you can trust that website.

The very first thing to understand about "Working from Home" is the fact that nothing will happen without any input from you and nothing will happen over night.
If you browsing the Internet for some time looking to generate extra income you will know about all these "Done for You", "Complete Automated System" and "Make Money in the next 24 Hours" websites all over the Internet.
Let me tell you, 99.9% of those are all BS, and they are design to take your money instead of making you any money. The Guru's refer to them as "Shiny Objects". Stay away from these offers.
The second thing about these "Shiny Objects", even if you make one or two sales and some money you are not building any business for yourself. You are building a bigger business for the owner of the website/program and he/she can remove the website anytime.
Enough of this, it is not worth spending anymore time on these BS offers and websites. Believe me!
